There’s No Comparing
(Cudney/Myregaard) Part I 1) RED: I’m a better bird than you! Why deny what’s clearly true? BLUE: I’m a better bird. YELLOW: I’m a better bird. GREEN: I’m a better bird. PURPLE: [spoken] Darling, that’s absurd! ORANGE: I’m a better bird than you! 2) ALL: I’m a better bird than you! Why deny what’s clearly true? Better in the air. Better in a chair! There’s No Comparing (Cudney/Myregaard)
Part II ALL: Am I a better bird than you? How could we ever prove that’s true? Is he a better bird? She a better bird? Me a better bird? Purple Bird: [spoken] Clearly that’s absurd. Who decides which “better's" true? Let’s think about what makes someone the “best.” A set of standards, perhaps a little test. (Purple & Orange Birds): One look in the mirror and anyone could see I’m a fabulous bird, no one compares to me. GREY: That’s it - you said it! You’ve hit on what is true. There’s no comparing to a bird like you. BLACK: But by the same measure I think we can agree There’s no comparing to a bird like me… SOLOS: (or me, or me, or me or me or me) ALL: I’m a different bird than you! Can’t deny what’s clearly true! I’m a different bird. I’m a different bird. I’m a different bird. ALL: [spoken] We’re all a bit absurd! Different birds in one great crew! Different birds in one great crew! |

Talk to That Bird (By Bobby Riley)
1) So hard, living in the snow. Soon we’ll be covered from head to toe. We’re sure to meet our death and freeze. The situation puts us ill at ease. CHORUS: Gluskabe, go talk to that bird. X3 2) See the snow melt, feel the heat. What’s that?! Sweat forming on the bottom of my feet! Spontaneously combust, that’s my belief, If we don’t cool off quick and find some relief. CHORUS: Gluskabe, go talk to that bird. X3 3) Feel the cool breeze brush across my face. Now the wind is picking up at a sickening pace. I know it’s strange but it’s time for a lesson. We understand now that each day is a blessin’. CHORUS: Gluskabe, Don’t talk to that bird. (x3) 4) No need to talk to our…. avian friends. We’ll always live life to the fullest Drop the mic the end. |
Look To The Little Bird (Cudney/Myregaard)
1) The flock is your team, And it gives you a place. People who like you, at least to your face. 2) There is safety in numbers. It’s why fish swim in schools. You have constant companions, If you follow their rules. Chorus So I look to the little bird, Alone in a tree High up above. With the whole world to see. She left all the commotion, Behind with the throngs. That bird does her own thing. Spreading hope with her songs. 3) Yes,the flock sells you safety, But it comes at a price. Requiring you to follow. Even when it’s not nice. 4) Seeing for yourself, In the midst of a crowd. Hearing your own voice, When the others get loud. 5) It can be hard to remember, Which ideas are your own, ‘Til the day that you take off and try flying alone. It's both scary and thrilling, to think of the day I will leave this formation, and fly my own way. Chorus End) But for now I’ve decided, this is where I will stay. |
Seeds of Kindness (Cudney/Myregaard) Part I
CHORUS: Seeds of kindness. Feed the birds. Offer help or a few nice words. Just be friendly. Give it a try. Watch what grows from Seeds with a smile. 1) Don’t need a feast of seeds to fill you back up, Just a handful, can be enough. Often the smallest deeds are the ones most sincere, Reassuring you, a friend is near. 2) You hold the door for me, I answer with a smile. I drop my book, you put it back onto my pile. My pencil’s on my desk I left class before I knew. You bring it back to me. I’d do the same for you. CHORUS Seeds of kindness. Feed the birds. Offer help or a few nice words. Just be friendly. Give it a try. Watch what grows from, seeds with a smile. |
Seeds of Kindness (Cudney/Myregaard) Part II
3) Ms. Maktaba: Look past the feathers. Chadwick: Check out my beak! Please take time to listen when I sing or when I speak. My feathers may be ruffled when I take to the sky, Remind me it’s not how I look, but how hard I try. 4) See what someone else does well, And let them know you saw it. Turn your selfie stick around Chelsea: Better yet outlaw it! Finding strength in others is what shows you have it, too. Reflect to your friends why they’re great They’ll mirror back for you! CHORUS: Seeds of kindness. Feed the birds. Offer help or a few nice words. Just be friendly. Give it a try. Watch what grows from, seeds with a smile. 5) The color of my clothes, the color of my skin. Offer not a hint of the person who’s within. Judge me from the outside and you’ll never get to see. The ways our differences connect To make a better WE! CHORUS Ending: Watch what grows from, seeds with a smile. |
